Wow! This post took a LONG time. Sorry for all the delay.
For this post, I’m trying a new method for putting the pictures up. If you are have trouble viewing anything, please LET ME KNOW in the comments.
We went to a village in the middle of the sugar cane fields this time. It was very HOT!
We pretty much had the same schedule as the last two days.
I walked over to VBS for a little bit later in the day.
Here’s Billy L. playing his sax during a game.
This little girl was soooooo cute. She refused to zip up her dress. 😀
Maggie with a cute little baby. The poor thing was suffering from malnutrition.
Katie L. She was in medical all week. 🙂
We had some helpers. 🙂
Later that evening, we had a rather impromptu “Hidden Talent” night. (so sorry about the bad angle. Best I could get. 🙂 ) We all had a blast. 🙂
The next morning during devotions, we were all reminded of the Promise.
The positive 18’s came up again. 😛
The next day was Friday-the last full day we had. Taking a small group with us, we went to a village ten minutes drive away. When we got there, we stopped at a school.
There were only pre-schoolers there at the time so after visiting for a while, we decided to roam around the village.
Told by the adults to walk around the village and find some kids to talk to, we began randomly walking around.
I found some laundry. I have a thing for pictures of laundry. 😀
Where is a good place to find a bunch of kids? At a school.
To make a very long story short, we got kicked out. Literally. 😀
Next we went to a Haitian village. The living conditions were terrible there.
Later in the after noon, a few of us decided to climb a huge mountain that we could see from the MGM camp.
That night we said goodbye to half the team since they were leaving at four in the morning.
The next morning we all packed up and waited around for our bus to come pick us up at around 11AM. While we were waiting, the shoe-shine boys at the gate found a tarantella. My dad, being my dad, had to go and handle it.
So that was the basic story of our trip. I hope you enjoyed it. 🙂
Christa L. put up some more really nice pics of the DR. If you’d like to see them, Click Here.
